The Ministry of Coaching:
Mentoring Leaders in Ministry
The mandate to develop leaders in ministry is embodied in the Great Commission where Jesus commands us to “make disciples.” However, this simple command is often met with numerous challenges for modern church leaders. In an attempt to raise as many leaders in the shortest time possible, churches have resorted to cookie-cutter methods of leadership development that usually involve merely copying what other churches are doing. The results, however, are often short-lived and lead to frustration and regression.
The Ministry of Coaching is based on a more organic approach to leadership development. Rather than focusing on mass-producing leaders, this model attempts to grow leaders based on the principles of natural growth. This model was exemplified by Christ himself when he invested most of his time and energy on a small handful of people who eventually grew to develop more leaders exponentially. This workshop is designed to help churches and ministries raise effective leaders through a balanced approach of character-development, skill-enhancement and cultural-relevance.
