Dear fellow Laborers,

My wife and myself just arrived from Vancouver for a weekend visit. It was a time to meet 7 workers who successfully passed our ministerial exams. This was a culmination of months of training conducted by the Senior Pastor, Ron De Villa. The church in Vancouver just successfully planted a church in a nearby City of Surrey and which will be celebrating their one year anniversary. And following this successful church planting is the preparation for another church planting in the City of Richmond. We observed the training of the workers/families for the Richmond church last Saturday and Sunday. Close supervision in training is being made by Bro. Ron so the foundation of this church is made right doctrinally and in the spirit of servanthood and humility. He taught on the life of John the Baptist, his qualities and what made him received the title from Christ as the "greatest prophet who has ever lived".

This church planting activity is happening in British Columbia, West of Canada but in the Ontario, East of Canada another church is also being planted. Bro. Jong Duterte reported that a place has been located and chosen for the new church in Brampton. The outreach in Edmonton located in the province of Alberta is gaining strength with families arriving from the United Arab Emirates. Bro. Andoni, Sis. Babette and sons drive from Calgary to Edmonton, a three hours drive, once a month to visit and strengthened our families there. A first Sunday Service is being scheduled. Bro. Ramon Solidum of Toronto, our first church in the Ontario Province, waits now for the approval of a loan towards the purchase of their own building. From East to West of Canada church planting is happening. This has been a result of the 2008 Pastors' Strategic Planning when they agreed and pledged to one another to plant a church in every urban center of Canada.

A very ambitious statement indeed but they are doing it one life at a time and one church at a time.

The passion for church planting proceeds from a heart that is close to the heart of God. The end result of church planting is the finding of the lost and providing them a home and a family that will help them grow in the Lord. As I write this part, I am moved by this thought with tears welling in my eyes but also immediately disturbed by a fear that our ministers may have lost the passion. As regional directors, see to it that this love for the lost, that proceeds from the heart of our Lord, does not vanish from the heart of our ministers. Seize every opportunity through conferences, personal visits and communications to keep this alive. Let us work while it is still day....we will not have this all the time.

In Pursuit of a Fresh Harvest,
