WIN 5th EMEM Regional Convention in UAE

WIN Churches spanning several countries in Europe (Greece, UK, Ireland, Spain, Germany), Middle East (UAE, Jordan) and Mediterranean (Cyprus) gathered in the United Arab Emirates between April 7 and 10, 2009 to celebrate God’s faithfulness and share WIN’s vision going forward.

The convention kicked off with an inaugural worship service held at the Renaissance Hotel on the evening of April 7 in Dubai, with Ptr. Chito Cordero of WIN Los Angeles sharing the word to an excited crowd of believers. The succeeding three days were filled with seminars and worship services that revolved on the theme “That they may glorify the Lord!” based Deuteronomy 4:6-8.

Rev. Emelito “Babes” Paulate, Rev. Rainier Camara and Rev. Butch Yu took turns in delivering messages during the worship services. The final day of the convention showcased special numbers from the various churches in the UAE, with Rev. Babes Paulate exhorting the attendees to live excellent lives – or lives beyond reproach – so that even those living outside the WIN community will glorify the Lord. Rev. Babes Paulate also alluded to the continuing Filipino diaspora and prayed for members of the church who may be planning to migrate elsewhere, and in doing so, must continue to serve the Lord and spread the gospel of Christ. Most importantly, he stressed that the WIN EMEM is now truly becoming a multinational church, where Filipinos in the future will only be one of the many races that comprise its community of believers.

Rev. Babes Paulate likewise announced the promotion of Rev. Rene Nepomuceno as Deputy International Director and Education Oversser. Ptr. Manny De Leon and Ptr. Angel Cano were also promoted as Regional Director for Europe and Regional Director for Middle East and Mediterranean, respectively.

The convention proved a wonderful time for believers – whether they are youth, singles or couples- spread across continents to fellowship and learn from one another as they continue to pursue God’s will and purpose for the wider WIN church.
