WIN La Carlota's Mission House
"A Training and Breeding Ground"

It all started when a widow named Tita Inda De Leon, a WIN-La Carlota member offered Ptr. Nonie Lim a piece of property situated in a beautiful rain forest in the mountain of Guintubdan in La Carlota.  Ptr. Nonie, a resident of La Carlota all his life, remembers the place as his father use to bring him there to go hunting. It was his dream that someday he can have his own property in that area.
Time has passed but Ptr. Nonie thoughts about the piece of land stayed. He had plans of developing the place for personal use, until the Lord reminded him of prayer for a place to be used for ministry. He began praying for direction, God answered his prayer as the Lord impressed upon his heart to develop the place as a Mission House, and there was an unexplainable joy in his heart that day.

He went back to Tita Inda the same day and excitedly reported to her that the place will be converted her place into a training center for pastors. She immediately gave her approval.

During the District Council Meeting Ptr. Nonie shared the God given plan of having a local Mission House in Guintubdan. The District Council unanimously gave their nod because they believe in discipleship and knew that it is in line with WIN’s vision.
 
The council started planning and came up with a design and a budget proposal. The construction started with seed contributions from Pastor Babes, Sister Sandy and Pastor Colin White.  In seven months by God’s favor & grace and with the help of WIN churches namely, WIN-Singapore, WIN-Canada, WIN-Cebu, WIN-Mindanao and WIN-Negros; WIN GUINTUBDAN TRAINING CENTER was dedicated to the Lord last April 6, 2009.

During the dedication, the land donor Tita Inda was there but her daughter was not able to come and sent this beautiful letter.

                ”I am deeply sorry for not being there during this very special occasion. I have been looking forward to seeing all of you today and to enjoy the view and the food.

                My message is only a borrowed short sentence from the bible: “The earth is the Lord's and everything in it.”

                Mom and I bought this little heaven from my brother who used this place as a breeding farm for his fighting cocks.

                At that time, I felt that it would be such a pity if this place would go to another cock breeder. I guess, this place is meant to be a “training" or "breeding" ground, but this time fighting cocks will no longer raised and trained here; but armies and soldiers of God  who will win souls for His Kingdom.

                It is our prayer that when they leave this place; that they are trained/ fully equipped for battle and transformed Filipino Christians ready to change the soul of our nation.

For the work that has been done and the fruitfulness that we are about to see, ALL GLORY AND HONOR belongs to our AWESOME, GREAT and MIGHTY GOD.
