It is resolved that a youth manual addressing relevant faith issues in a
pluralistic (secular, multi culture and multi faith) society will be developed
by a team of pastors and some of the youth leaders to be headed by
Pastor Stefan Tiran within a year’s time (July 2009)
As Christians who live in the world but not of the world, we are fully
aware of the dangers that can be a result of abusing alcohol intake.
Therefore, we are not ashamed to take a stand against usage of alcohol
drinks that can lead to violence, sexual activities and addiction. We
believe and value that our body is the temple of God to glorify Him.
1.) We as true Christians believe that dating should be defined as a process
of courtship therefore it should be conducted honorably with
parental and spiritual guidance and with the intention of marriage. We
resolve to avoid intimacy and any form of commitments that could
endanger our Christian values and purity.
2.) We believe that technology is a product of God-given wisdom and
ingenuity to humankind with a potential to elevate and improve the
quality of life. However we also believe that technology can be mis-
used and abused which can lead to the detriment of an individual, family
and community.
Therefore, we resolve to be vigilant, discerning and
prudent, finding other hobbies, prioritizing and managing our time wisely,
referring to the principles set by the Bible and seeking the help of our
parents for the choice of content and use of technology.
3.) We believe that God created us with the intellectual ability to learn and
that education is a fundamental part of developing, enhancing and
fulfilling of the life He has given us.
Therefore, with the help, support and motivation of our family and the
church, we resolve to excel in learning in all areas of our life for the
development of our God-given potential to equip us to be better
individuals serving the local and global community.
Furthermore, with the help of parents and the church, we resolve to
explore and identify potential resources for the education of well-
deserving young people
4.) We believe that family is the basic social unit instituted by God where
values and Christian faith are formed, emotional and social skills are
developed and relationships are nurtured. But, we understand that there
are youths who have personal and family concerns that we can address.
Therefore, we resolve that we will welcome youth to the church family
as equals and foster an atmosphere of openness and trust between the
youth, youth leaders, parents and church leaders.
To achieve this, we will organize activities to promote bonding such as
parent and youth activities and with the help of the church to guide both
parents and the youth. |
